Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine (Proposed)
Company Overview
The proposed Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking qualified candidates to support our unique, innovative curriculum designed for a modern day Medical School. We are in the accreditation process with the Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation for Fall of 2021. We are located in the beautiful Utah Valley in Provo surrounded by the Wasatch mountain range and Utah Lake. Our campus is in development for completion in 2021 with anticipated enrollment beginning this Fall.
Company History
The proposed Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine was founded, in part, to address the current and future medical needs of Utah Valley. The state of Utah is the center of the fastest growing region within the United States, with Utah County at the epicenter of this historical growth of the Intermountain West. Our tech sector is at the heart of this boom within our region, the Wasatch front, now known as the Silicon Slopes. Projections estimate the State of Utah adding 1,000,000 people over the next 15 years with 600,000 of those predicted to reside in Utah County. Together with neighboring Salt Lake County, we will have a population of no less than 3 million in central Utah within an 80-mile radius. We are fortunate to have several strong health systems in our community providing exceptional health care. However, even before this rapid population expansion will have occurred, Utah currently ranks in the bottom 10% of the nation in key physician workforce categories including active physicians. More specifically, Utah is 50th in the nation in primary care. In 2019, Noorda-COM (proposed) was granted candidate status from COCA (the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation) and granted candidate status with rights to recruit students in June 2020.
